Meet the Woodrose Mini Quilt

Some quilts are just meant to wander. The Woodrose mini quilt has been spotted hanging out in my living room, slung on the back of my couch, and most recently, moonlighting as a table runner on my dining table. She looks good everywhere.

Originally designed as a part of Amber’s Modern Makes Membership project, Woodrose was born from my love of curves. At the time, I was on a total curve kick! This mini was my way of leaning into the shapes that had me in a creative vicegrip. The arcs in the design are on the smaller side, which adds a layer of challenge—smaller curves aren’t always beginner-friendly.

Christina’s Curve Tips

With a few tips from my friend Christina over at Kindred Quilt Co., and the curve corners technique over on my blog, Woodrose is totally doable.

  • Christina with tiny curves here.
  • Part I of her four ways on how to sew curves.
  • Part II of her four ways on how to sew curves.

While the quilt pattern itself doesn’t include super-specific instructions for piecing curves (though my recent Moonbeam pattern does!), Christina is a great teacher, and my blog post for curve corners is linked here!

A Color Story Centered on Woodrose

If you’ve been wondering about the name, it’s a nod to the gorgeous pink used in the original sample: Kona Cotton in Woodrose. It’s paired with four other Kona shades—Windsor, Cadet, Roasted Pecan, and Haze—that come together for a warm, moody palette that feels both grounded and dreamy. Perfect for autumn decorating, tiny tables, or a little wall space that needs love.

Here’s the complete list:

  • Woodrose – the star of the show
  • Windsor – a rich navy
  • Cadet – a soft steel blue
  • Roasted Pecan – a cozy brown
  • Haze – a gray-lavender whisper
